Approach
Every pregnancy and birth is unique. As a Doula, I'm here to help you navigate your journey, ensuring that you feel empowered, and honoring whatever path you choose.
About Me
My name is Maia, and I am a birth doula offering compassionate, evidence-based care to women throughout Los Angeles.
I have always been passionate about women's health and child development. I completed my pre-medical studies at Columbia University and then fell in love with Doula care.
I provide intuitive emotional and physical support, advocating for you to have complete ownership over your pregnancy and birth experience.
Forms of Support
Emotional
Emotional support is incredibly important in all stages of life, and pregnancy can be a special moment of growth and change. One of my key roles as a doula is to provide emotional support from a standpoint that is mindful and understanding. Having a strong support system is key to having a positive experience during pregnancy and birth.
Information
There's no one way to go through pregnancy or birth. I help facilitate your decision making by providing you with the information you need to make the experience truly yours. Whether you choose to give birth at a hospital, birthing center or in your home, I make sure you understand what the process will look like on that special day.
Physical
Physical support can provide comfort, release, and help your body to find its natural rhythm during labor. I use counter-pressure, targeted massage and rebozo techniques, and love to guide partners through these hands-on comfort measures as well.
Photography
Pregnancy Birth Family
I love to integrate photography with my birth work for those who like to document the special moments.
Birth Doula Package
Prenatal Visits
2 in-person visits and 3+ virtual visits. During these visits we will go over your birth preferences, build a Birth Plan and go over any questions and concerns you may have. We also focus on birthing positions, stages of labor, how to pack a hospital bag, how to stay healthy during pregnancy, practicing physical comfort measures during our sessions and for you to do on your own.
Continuous Labor Support
I am on-call for you 24/7 in the last weeks of your pregnancy (week 38 through the birth of your baby). I am there to support you full-heartedly and without any interruption.
Post Partum Visit
I meet with you after your delivery to discuss how you are doing, provide further comfort for you, and help you navigate the adjustment to post-pregnancy and birth.

My Background
I grew up with three sisters, watching my mom complete her medical residency. She inspired me to have a deep love for understanding the human body, and instilled in me the notion that physical health is deeply integrated with emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
I studied biology and photography at Bard College, followed by pre-medical studies at Columbia University. I was driven to become a Doula so that I could work directly with women and give them unwavering support as they navigate the transformative steps of pregnancy and childbirth.
I feel incredibly honored to work so closely with individuals and to be a part of their birth journeys. Having supported families across Los Angeles, I am especially passionate about serving Hispanic/Latino and LGBTQ+ communities, like my own.
